On Friday 10th September Simon Knight Architects hosted a consultation on the redevelopment of the Rose & Crown pub in St Albans. The aim of this project is to make the pub a viable commercial proposition moving forwards, whilst retaining the grade II listed building use as a pub.
We had over 100 people attend over a two hour period, and received some really constructive feedback, both in person and via our website. There is a strong appetite to see the pub re-opened and brought back to life. We thank everyone for coming and their comments.

The minimal harm to the existing listed buildings is more than outweighed by the overall benefits the scheme will bring.
I thoroughly support this venture to breathe new life into this neglected & now decrepit pub. I consider that the benefit of this proposal can only enhance the property & surrounding area.
A very impressive proposal. Wonderful to see the pub retained as a pub. Excellent to see the house refurbished and put back to its intended use as a home and also delighted to see the demolished building being reinstated and given a 21st century use of office space.
